Work begins on the lower wall:

Our landscaper bought the forks specifically for this job, since he knew he would be dealing with a lot of cross ties.

By the afternoon they had progressed pretty far along:

French drains and river rock will be placed along the inside of the wall:

Lots of hammering rebar and huge nails:
